Text Box: NPBA Mission Trip to Goiania, Brazil—September 2008 This past January, Dr. Gay made a scouting trip to Goiania to lay the foundation for the mission trip in September.  Meeting with approximately twenty pastors and businessmen, excitement grew as the Christian businessmen embraced the venture.  The picture to the right shows a group of pastors and businessmen who gathered to further discuss the meetings.  In meeting with hotel and conference officials to make the arrangements, it was discovered that many more businessmen seemed to be interested than was thought initially. As you are already aware, we have been praying for two years that somehow we could involve the office of the mayor.  God answered those prayers.  At the initial meeting of pastors and Christian businessmen, God had spoken to the heart of the vice-mayor and he attended the meeting.  While in Goiania, Dr. Gay was asked to go to the mayor’s office to present the plans for the conference.  Not only is the Goiania mayor supporting the conference, but mayors of three bedroom communities to Goiania are behind it as well.  Praise God! To the right is a picture of a meeting in Anapolis where Baptist missionaries established a college many, many years ago.  Today it is a thriving, well respected university in Brazil.  We made arrangements for a conference to be held there as well.
